






SHANGHAI, Nov. 9 (SMM) -- According to SMM sources, the electricity price has been raised to RMB 0.51-0.53/kWh in selected regions in Hunan province; the electricity price has been lifted to RMB 0.457/kWh in Xiushan region; the electricity price is expected to increase by RMB 0.04-0.1/kWh in Guizhou and Guangxi provinces, but no official news were released so far.
According to SMM sources, Guizhou government will raise electricity prices on November 21st, and a number of producers in Guangxi province said the electricity price have been lifted to RMB 0.51/kWh. At present, only several large producers maintained normal production in Guangxi province, and manganese producers in Jingxi and Daxin regions remained offline due to environmental protection inspections and are expected to resume production in late November.
Production costs at manganese producers in Guizhou and Guangxi provinces will increase by RMB 340-650/mt after the electricity price hike, and more refined manganese producers will suspend production if refined manganese prices remain low.
