[Cu] China's Copper Apparent Demand up 21% in September
SHANGHAI, Oct. 27 -- According to China Customs data released on October 26th, China's copper apparent demand during September increased by 21% on a monthly basis.
China's copper apparent demand increased by nearly 115,000 mt to 657,312 mt during September, while China's aluminum apparent consumption increased by 10% to 1.32 million mt.
China's imports of refined copper increased by nearly 30% during September, and domestic copper output set a record high as well. In the mean time, relatively lower growth rate in copper inventories helped boost apparent demand.
Up to now, China's refined copper consumption reached 5.57 million mt, contributing to a total copper consumption of 6.74 million mt for 2009. China's refined copper consumption was 5.57 million mt last year. China's is the largest copper consumer all over the world.
