Preliminary Data for China's Import and Export of Copper and Aluminum in September

SHANGHAI, Oct. 14 -- According to the preliminary data released by the General Administration of Customs on October 14th, China's imports of unwrought copper and copper semis were 399,052mt during September, with YTD imports of 3,367,072mt, up 77% YoY; imports of scrap copper were 410kt during September, with YTD imports of 2.99 million mt, down 32.6% YoY.

    China's alumina imports were 470kt during September, with YTD imports of 4.1 million mt, up 16.6% YoY; imports of unwrought aluminum and aluminum semis were 195,877mt during September, with YTD imports of 1,997,277mt, up 189.8% YoY; imports of scrap aluminum were 330kt during September, with YTD imports of 1.82 million mt, up 8.4% YoY; exports of unwrought aluminum were 33,310mt during September, with YTD exports of 167,935mt, down 75.5% YoY.
