SHANGHAI, Sept. 22 (SMM) -- Yesterday, LME nickel prices opened at USD 17,300/mt. Base metal prices fell sharply due to strengthened US dollar, and recovered slightly at night after profit-takings of US dollar. LME nickel prices hit the day-low level of USD 16,688/mt and closed at USD 17,225/mt.
LME nickel prices show an obvious downward trend recently given weak market fundamentals. However, other base metal prices kept fluctuating, limiting the downward room for nickel prices. LME nickel prices are expected to move in the USD 16,800-17,500/mt range today.
