SHANGHAI, Sept. 21 (SMM) -- Prices for selenium powder and selenium dioxide continued to drop slightly due to weak demand negatively affected by sluggish domestic refined manganese market and falling manganese prices.
At present, domestic mainstream selling prices for selenium powder were RMB 500-540/kg; selenium dioxide was mainly traded at RMB 380-390/kg. MB prices have fallen to USD 27-28/lbs, but domestic importers had very low interest in purchase given pessimistic market outlook.
SMM believes selenium prices will likely fall further in view of weary downstream demand, and selenium powder prices are expected to fall below RMB 500/kg, and selenium dioxide prices will likely drop to RMB 350/kg.
