[Al] SMM Morning Review - 2009/9/21 Aluminum Market

SHANGHAI, Sept. 21 (SMM) -- Last Friday, LME aluminum prices opened at USD 1,950/mt, and showed weak performance negatively affected by dropping SHFE futures prices, with the highest level of USD 1,965/mt. LME aluminum prices dipped along with strengthened US dollar and closed at USD 1,917/mt finally. LME aluminum inventories declined by 6,400mt. Today, aluminum market will remain stable after aluminum prices slipped last Friday, and LME aluminum prices will continue to move around USD 1,900/mt in the near future. SHFE aluminum prices are expected to open low today, but any downward room for aluminum prices are expected to be limited with the absence of negative news.
