






LUSAKA, Sept. 17 -- Zambia's production of copper cathode rose to 442,322 tonnes between January and July this year compared with 337,146 tonnes for the same period last year, the central bank said on Wednesday.
The Bank of Zambia (BoZ) also said cobalt production for the same period dropped to 2,025 this year versus 2,658 tonnes in the corresponding period in 2008.
Zambia exported 415,781 tonnes of copper for the seven months to July this year compared with 316,874 tonnes of copper in the same period in 2008, the central bank said.
Cobalt exports dropped to 2,104 tonnes in the seven months to July this year compared with 2,719 tonnes in the same period in 2008.
