Preliminary Data for China's Import and Export of Copper and Aluminum in August

SHANGHAI, Sept. 11 (SMM) -- According to the preliminary data from General Administration of Customs on September 11th, China's imports of unwrought copper and copper semis were 325,098 mt during August, and YTD imports were 2,968,213 mt, up 75.8% YoY; China's imports of scrap copper were 390 kt during August, and YTD imports were 2.58 million mt, down 34.3% YoY.

    China's exports of unwrought aluminum were 273,000 mt during August, and YTD exports were 134,625 mt, down 78.3% YoY; China's alumina imports were 340 kt during August, and YTD imports were 3.63 million mt, up 13.9% YoY; China's imports of unwrought aluminum and aluminum semis were 189,749 mt, and YTD imports were 1,801,365 mt, up 189.9% YoY; China's imports of scrap aluminum were 280 kt during August, and YTD imports were 1.49 million mt, up 2.6% YoY.
