SHANGHAI, Aug. 27 (SMM) -- Domestic prices for selenium dioxide fell slightly to RMB 430-440/kg from last week levels of RMB 450/kg.
Refined manganese factories have finished raw material stock replenishment previously, so their buying interest was low before mid-September, resulting in waning market demand and weighing on selenium dioxide prices.
SMM believes prices of raw materials for selenium dioxide will remain high in the near future since prices for selenium powder were high in overseas markets, which will help support selenium dioxide prices, leaving limited downward room. Higher raw material prices were also the major factor for suppliers' reluctance in reducing selling prices.
