SHANGHAI, Aug. 25 (SMM) -- Traded prices for silicon metal remained unchanged compared to yesterday.

Market players said some factories will likely face capital flow problems given electricity expenditure by the end of this month, resulting in a downward trend for long-term orders prices. #553 silicon was traded at RMB 9,500/mt. FOB prices remained high, but overseas consumers' acceptability was low.

SMM believes trading volumes will unlikely increase in the short term, with little changes in traded price range.

According to China Customs, China's exports of silicon metal were 41,440mt during July, up 7.3% MoM, but down 35.3% YoY. Export of silicon metal remained stable from January to April, but reported rapid growth from May to June with the recovery of overseas economy, and then grew at a slower pace during July.
