SHANGHAI, Aug. 24 (SMM) -- Offers for silicon metal reported no significant changes in the market on Monday compared to last week.
Exporters held different view on price outlook. Although MB offers for silicon metal have risen to EUR 1,500-1,600/mt from EUR 1,450-1,600/mt, trading activities remained lackluster.
Domestic factories were firm with their offers, with prices at RMB 9,900/mt for #3303 silicon in Kunming city, and at RMB 9,600/mt for #553 silicon at port.
SMM believes silicon metal prices will unlikely fall significantly in the short term, also with little possibility of marked rise. However, market sentiment remained weak, and overall overseas market still lacked upward momentum, leaving pessimistic market outlook.
