






SHANGHAI, Aug. 20 (SMM) -- On Wednesday, metal prices were affected by Chinese stock markets negatively, but then improved by significant declines in US crude oil inventories. LME lead prices stabilized above 30-day average line, with total positions down more than 1,000 lots. At present, market sentiment was weak, but the uptrend for lead prices remained unchanged. LME lead prices will move in the USD 1,750-1,850/mt range in the short term.
On Wednesday, the US stocks increased due to positive impact from unexpected declines in US crude oil inventories, and Dow Jones index climbed by 61.22 points to 9279.16. Recent data signal weak gold commercial demand, but COMEX Gold closed at USD 944.8/oz, up USD 5.6/oz, and silver prices closed at USD 13.909/oz, down Cents 8.6/oz. NYMEX crude oil futures prices closed at USD 72.42/barrel, up nearly 5%.
Lead prices are expected to move around RMB 13,500/mt in domestic spot market.
