[Cu] SMM Morning Review - 2009/8/18 Copper Market

SHANGHAI, Aug. 18 (SMM) -- Although the US manufacturing index in August was positive, LME copper prices dipped, as Chinese, European and US stock markets dropped, and the US dollar index moved upward. LME copper three-month contract prices closed at USD 6,095/mt, down USD 150/mt. LME copper inventories increased by 1,175mt, bringing total inventories to 294,050mt. Copper prices are expected to fluctuate higher today after marked adjustments yesterday.
