SHANGHAI, Aug. 13 (SMM) -- The Feb announced that the interest rate will remain unchanged, and said current economy is recovering. This news impelled investors to purchase high-risk, high-yield assets, which dragged down US dollar and drove up base metal prices. LME copper three-month contract prices closed at USD 6,190/mt, up USD 145/mt. LME copper inventories increased by 1,225mt, bringing total inventories to 292,400mt. The meeting of interest rate decision will provide direction for copper prices, so copper prices are expected to hit a new high in the near future.
