HONG KONG, Aug 10 -- China's fourth-largest copper smelter Jinchuan Group Ltd closed its sole 400,000-tonne-per-year copper facility for repairs on Monday, a company source said.
The repairs would continue for more than 20 days, the source said.
"Our copper production will fall a little from the planned 400,000-tonne target," the source told Reuters, referring to the company's 2009 output target.
Jinchuan, also the country's top nickel producer, had resumed full production at its nickel facility after completing more than 10 days of repairs, he said. The repairs started in late July.
The unlisted company had not changed its 2009 nickel output target of 125,000 tonnes, the source added.
