SHANGHAI, July 30 (SMM) -- The sluggish durable goods orders in the US and plunged stock markets in China and other Asian countries dragged down stock markets in the Europe and US, while the US dollar strengthened significantly. In this context, investors withdrew their funds after profit-takings, weighing on LME copper prices. LME copper three-month contract prices closed at USD 5,425/mt, down USD 140/mt. LME copper inventories declined by 575mt, bringing total inventories to 278,350mt. A wait-and-see attitude dominated spot market, with low purchasing interest, unless the market shows clear directions.
