SHANGHAI, July 24 (CBI China) -- Silicon metal prices continued to track last week’s upward trend in domestic market during this week, and spot supply remained tight. The factories held optimistic price outlook and kept their offers firm.
Last week, CBI predicted 553# silicon prices would receive downward pressure at RMB 9,000/mt, and 2202# silicon prices would meet pressure around RMB 10,000/mt, which was in line with market performance. Silicon prices will rise further unless it finds strong supports from transactions.
Next week, silicon prices will likely fluctuate in current price level, and actual traded prices will tend to be reasonable.
