BEIJING, July 23 -- A 70 kilometers long polymetallic ore field was discovered in the southern slopes of Qinling Mountain, Shaanxi Province after a three-year geological exploration.

There are five polymetallic deposits proved in this ore field with the largest one reserving more than 10 million mt.

The ore field is 70 kilometers long and 1 to 3 kilometers wide, containing lead, zinc, silver and copper which all exceed the minimum industrial grade. The grade of lead is 3%, zinc 10%, copper 0.8% and silver 96 g/mt.

Geologists said the discovered deposit is probably the core of an oversized ore field and the exploration is still going on.
