[Minor metal] Manganese Prices up Slightly in Domestic Market

SHANGHAI, July 21 (CBI China) -- Refined manganese prices rose steadily in domestic market, with ex-works prices in the RMB 13,300-13,500/mt range. Factories had obvious unwillingness in moving cargos.

Refined manganese prices have risen steadily since last week, due mainly to falling operating rates at factories amid hot weather, as well as shortages of manganese ore supply caused by rainy weather. Market insiders held optimistic outlook over short-term market.

Traders also had high purchasing sentiment, further pushing up refined manganese prices.

Mainstream traded prices for refined manganese are expected to move up to RMB 13,500/mt during this week.
