[Minor metal] Manganese Prices Advance Slowly in Domestic Market

SHANGHAI, July 13 (CBI China) -- Refined manganese prices tracked last week’s upward trend in domestic market, with mainstream ex-works prices moving in the RMB 13,100-13,500/mt range. Factories were unwilling to move goods, with obvious differences in price offers.

Sources report that the mine maintenance in Tongren region, Guizhou province, resulted in the tightness of manganese ore supply in the market. Meanwhile, prices of imported manganese ore continued to rise recently, exerting impact on domestic manganese ore market.

A portion of middlemen intend to build up stocks, so manganese prices will likely rise further in the near future.
