Preliminary Data for China's Import and Export of Base Metals in June

SHANGHAI, July 13 -- According to preliminary data released by General Administration of Customs on July 10th, China's imports of unwrought copper and copper semis were 475,999mt during June, up 13% compared to May import level of 422,666mt, and YTD imports were 2,235,301mt; China's imports of scrap copper were 280kt during June, and YTD imports were 1.74 million mt, down 39.8% YoY.

    Alumina imports were 530kt during June, and YTD imports were 2.68 million mt, up 12% YoY; imports of unwrought aluminum and aluminum semis were 353,218mt, and YTD imports were 1,388,542mt, up 196.8% YoY; imports of scrap aluminum were 190kt during June, and YTD imports were 870kt, down 18% YoY; exports of unwrought aluminum were 22,182mt during June, and YTD exports were 74,933mt, down 82.6% YoY.
