[Minor metal] European Offers for Cobalt Climb Further

iconJul 2, 2009 00:00

SHANGHAI, July 2 (CBI China) -- European offers for cobalt climbed further, warehouse prices are USD 16-6.5/lbs for cobalt (purity rate ≥99.8%); warehouse prices were USD 15.2-16.1/lbs for cobalt (purity rate ≥99.3%); China port prices were USD 12.5-13/lbs for cobalt concentrate (content ≥8%).

Sources report that the rising cobalt prices in European markets were due mainly to supports from Chinese buyers, as the overseas prices were still lower than domestic prices. CBI believes there will be little possibility European cobalt prices will advance further after they rise to domestic price levels due to current sluggish Chinese demand.
