SHANGHAI, June 29 (CBI China) -- The falling stock market and crude oil prices dragged down copper price, and the profit-takings of long positions last week exerted downward pressure on copper price as well. LME three-month contract copper price closed at USD 5,055/mt, down USD 50/mt. LME copper inventories declined by 1,350/mt, bringing total inventories to 270,250mt. Last week, SHFE copper inventories decreased sharply by 12,448mt, which is expected to boost copper price. Hence, SHFE copper price is expected to show stronger performance today.
