[Minor metal] China’s Imports of Cobalt Concentrate Reach 20,048mt in May

SHANGHAI, June 24 (CBI China) -- China’s imports of cobalt concentrate totaled 20,048mt during May, up 25% MoM, but down 27% YoY. YTD cumulative imports were 69,684mt.

    Market insiders believe more than 20kt of ore imports were larger than current Chinese demand, while the level between 10-15kt matches the demand. The data will likely dampen the market expectations that prices of domestic cobalt products will rise.
