[Minor metal] Cobalt Salt Prices Lack Upward Momentum

iconJun 24, 2009 00:00

SHANGHAI, June 24 (CBI China) -- Quoted prices for cobalt salt advanced in domestic market in early this week, but the actual traded prices were unchanged compared to last week. Currently, cobalt chloride was traded in the RMB 73,000-75,000/mt range; cobalt sulfate was traded in the RMB 61,000-64,000/mt range.

CBI believes cobalt salt prices lack upward momentum in view of weak demand. Large price fluctuations will likely cause the development of ternary materials and other downstream substitutes. In addition, price fluctuations will result in continued increases in ore prices, leading to greater price risks.
