SHANGHAI, June 17 (CBI China) -- Last night, metal prices surged and then fell negatively affected by mixed economic data. Stock and commodity markets began showing a weak performance after substantial increases for more than half a year, generating concerns of market players over the pace of economic recovery. Commodity prices fell further yesterday due to sharp declines in US dollar, creating the incentives of long investors over profit-takings. Nickel price will likely fall to USD 13,500/mt in the short term.
