SHANGHAI, June 5 (CBI China) -- According to latest news, Australia will decide before June 4th whether or not to launch anti-dumping and subsidy investigations on Chinese aluminum extrusions (HS code: 760410, 760429, 76042100, 76081000, 76082000, 76101000, and 7610900). On June 1st, Bureau of Fair Trade for Imports and Exports of the Ministry of Commerce held a closed-door meeting to response to such charges in Foshan, Guangdong province, with attendees from the Ministry of Finance, General Administration of Customs, The National Tax Bureau. Australia, as one of developed countries admitting China's market economy status, is the first country that starts the anti-subsidy investigation on Chinese products, if Australia decides to issue such investigations.

CBI believes China’s exports of aluminum extrusions has started to face great challenges after South Africa and Canada made anti-dumping and subsidy investigations on domestic goods and won the cases. If Australia decides to starts such investigations, the costs for lawsuit will drop, and the investigation period will shorten as well, as the previous investigation cases could provide reference. Domestic aluminum extrusion producers have showed great attention on the investigations which may be conducted by Australian governments, as other China’s major export destinations of aluminum extrusions will probably initiate investigations as well to protect their own industries, if Australia wins the cases.
