Nickel Excess in The World in 3 Months Reaches 56600 t

SHANGHAI, May 26 -- According to World Bureau of Metal Statistics report, there is 56600 tonnes excess in the global market in the first three months of 2009. At the same time nickel production in the period decreased by 6.3 % YoY having made 316500 tonnes.

    The demand for refined nickel in January to March 2009 decreased by 23 % and made 259500 tonnes on an annualized basis. Besides, as per the organization information, world nickel mining production in Q1 2009 fell by 7.2 %, to 341100 tonnes.

    In March world nickel production reached 105100 tonnes and the consumption made 91900 tonnes.
