SHANGHAI, May 22 (CBI China) -- Standard & Poor's cut ratings and the US stock markets fell, dampening LME copper price. LME three-month contract copper price closed at USD 4,485/mt, down USD 185/mt. The LME inventories declined by 5,400mt to 336,075mt. The weak macro economy resulted in declines in copper price. SHFE copper price showed a worse performance than LME copper and is expected to dip sharply today. Pessimism dominated current market, and any improvement for spot transactions will be limited.
