Zinc And lead Output Fell in China

BEIJING, May 21 -- Particularly in April 2009 these metals output decreased comparing to March due to the problems with concentrate supplies.

    Thus, lead output decreased by 10 %, to 302,000 tonnes, and zinc down by 2.6 %, to 335,000 tonnes. However, it grew by 13.5 % and 3.7 % correspondingly comparing to April 2008.

    Totally, on the results of Q1 2009 lead output made 1.07 million tonnes and zinc output made 1.19 million tonnes.

    Earlier it was reported that the State Reserves Bureau of PRC intends to buy 400,000 tonnes of lead and zinc as a part of the metallurgy support program.
