SHANGHAI, May 19 (CBI China) -- The rising US stock markets boosted the copper price. LME three-month contract copper price closed at USD 4,545/mt, up USD 140/mt. The inventories declined by 4,250mt to 353,550mt. The performance of the surrounding markets dominated the LME copper price trend. However, SHFE copper price will show a worse performance than LME copper price due to weak spot consumptions. CBI believes copper price will continue to fluctuate slightly due to declines in downstream copper demand.
