Preliminary Data for China’s Import/Export of Base Metals in April

SHANGHAI, May 12 -- According to the data announced by General Administration of Customs on May 12th, imports of unwrought aluminum and aluminum profile in April were 439,902mt, and cumulative imports were 703,545mt from January to April, up 118.5% YoY; imports of scrap aluminum were 180kt, and cumulative imports were 520kt from January to April, down 27.5% YoY; alumina imports were 650kt, and cumulative imports were 1.67 million mt from January to April, down 2.6% YoY; exports of unwrought aluminum were 5,868mt in April, and cumulative exports were 42,857mt, down 80.7% YoY.

    Imports of unwrought copper and copper profile were 399,833mt in April, and cumulative imports were 1,336,645mt from January to April, up 40.5% YoY; scrap copper imports were 400kt, and cumulative imports were 1.13 million mt from January to April, down 41.4% YoY.
