SHANGHAI, Apr. 29 (CBI China) -- Sources report that an explosion occurred in Lead and Tin Plant under Guangxi Hechi Nanfang Non-ferrous Metal Smelt Co., Ltd. (lead capacity of 80kt/yr) on April 28th, and a large part of fuming furnace collapsed after the explosion. According to Work Safety Administration of Guangxi Province, this accident caused at least one death and five injuries.

The production accident at individual producers will be unlikely to exert great positive impact on the market due to current weak demand in domestic and overseas markets. In March, a total of more than 6kt refined lead were produced in Guangxi province, down 34% on a monthly basis.
