YUNNAN, Apr. 21 -- Yunnan Copper Co Ltd, China's third-largest copper producer, said on Tuesday its production in the first quarter fell 34 percent from a year earlier due to the global financial crisis.

The company did not provide specific output data for the first quarter as well as the same period last year.

Yunnan Copper has an annual refining capacity of about 500,000 tonnes and aims to expand to more than 600,000 tonnes this year.

The company also said it expects to suffer a loss of about 260.63 million yuan in the first quarter.
