[Cu] Summary - 2009/4/20 Scrap Copper Market
SHANGHAI, Apr. 20 (CBI China) -- North China today 1# bright copper traded at RMB 38,800-39,100/mt, the poor sales of copper rod hammered the buying sentiment of scrap copper, so the scrap copper price fell to a low level, with weak transactions.
East China today 1# bright copper traded at RMB 39,200-39,500/mt, the supply remained tight, and the demand from downstream processing producers were general, with stable transactions.
South China today 1# bright copper traded at RMB 39,900-40,100/mt, as the refined copper supply excluding tax was strong in Guangdong province, and its price was equal to scrap copper price, so the obvious price advantage dampened the copper consumption, leading to slim transactions.
