SHANGHAI, Apr. 14 (CBI China) -- Currently, the price of imported high carbon ferrochrome rose slightly, the price of high carbon ferrochrome from India was Cents 59-61/lbs, while the price of high carbon ferrochrome from South Africa was around Cents 58/lbs.

Sources report that the previous low price of high carbon ferrochrome was due mainly to the low price dumping of Indian traders before the traditional festival – Harvest Festival. Hence, the price rose recently after this festival, as well as due to limited supply caused by more and more production cuts and suspension at local ferrochrome producers. It is said that the price of metallurgical grade high carbon ferrochrome from India was Cents 65/lbs.

The suppliers said the current stainless steel market remained slim, and the steel mills demand remained stable and limited. Recently, the sales of imported ferrochrome were worse than previous days along with the lifted price of imported ferrochrome, and the transactions were moderate as well.
