SMM Morning Review - 2010/12/21 Zinc Market

SHANGHAI, Dec. 21 (SMM)--Market sentiment eased yesterday in response of a relieved relationship tension between North and South Korea. In this context, the US dollar index overnight moved between 80.3 and 80.6. LME zinc prices overnight opened slightly higher at USD 2,325/mt, then dipped to a low of USD 2,272/mt, but with prices supported at USD 2,300/mt, and finally closed at USD 2,325/mt, and with prices still meeting pressure at 60-day moving average. The overall market sentiment was lackluster before the Christmas holiday. Trading volumes were 42,396 lots, and total positions were 232,312 lots. SHFE zinc prices are expected to continue fluctuating today.
