China's Nonferrous Metal Output up 24% in Jan-Oct

BEIJING, Dec. 6 -- China's output of ten nonferrous metals, including aluminum and copper, rose 23.9 percent year-on-year to 26.14 million tons in the first ten months, according to latest official statistics.

Compared with the same period of last year, the output of refined copper rose 11.8 percent to 3.78 million tons and that of virgin aluminum was up 32.5 percent to 13.74 million tons, according to figures released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The output of lead climbed 8.8 percent to 3.35 million tons and that of zinc rose 21 percent to 4.26 million tons.
