






Sep. 28 (Reuters) - Chile, the world's No. 1 copper producer, said Tuesday its output of the metal CLCOPP=ECI rose 1.3 percent to 467,680 tonnes in August from the same month a year earlier.
In July, Chile's copper output rose 6.3 percent to 454,178 tonnes from the same month in 2009, according to data released last month by the National Statistics Institute.
Molybdenum output in August rose 2.8 percent to 3,147 tonnes while year-to-date production climbed 3.4 percent to 22,581 tonnes from last year.
The production of copper concentrate rose 4.9 percent from last year while copper catode production fell 1.7 percent in August, reaffirming the trend, according to the institute.
