SHANGHAI, Sept. 28 (SMM) -- LME zinc prices advanced during China's Mid-Autumn Festival holidays, but SHFE zinc prices failed to track rising LME zinc price trends after the holiday. Meanwhile, the US dollar index rebounded slightly after weakening last week, with the index recovering to near 79.5. The sluggish domestic transactions of base metals and a stronger US dollar caused LME zinc prices to fall to USD 2,189/mt, and LME zinc prices finally closed at USD 2,202/mt. Trading volumes increased slightly by 500 lots to 6,331 lots, while positions increased by 2,000 lots to 220,000 lots.
