Alcoa Ups Freight Premium for N.A. Rolled Products

NEW YORK, Sept. 15 -- Alcoa Inc (AA.N: Quote) said on Tuesday it informed customers of its Alcoa North American Rolled Products of an increase to its West Coast freight premiums, effective last Monday.

The price increases will be applied to all non-heat treated products for its industrial customers.

Listed below are the West Coast states and Canadian provinces that will be affected by the price hike.

* California, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada will add an $.08/lb freight premium.

* Canadian Provinces of Saskatchewan, Alberta, New Brunswick, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia will carry an $.08/lb freight premium.

* Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Wyoming, and Utah will be assigned a $.05/lb premium.

All existing orders and firm agreements confirmed before Sept. 13 will be honored, the Alcoa note said.
