Jiyuan Wanyang Smeltery Group Invests RMB 100 million in Technical Innovation

SHANGHAI, Sep. 2 (SMM) – Jiyuan Wanyang Smeltery Group has thoroughly removed the original production line with sintering machines, and is now installing an oxygen-enriched production line. Lu Zhenhai, general manager of the company, said that a total number of RMB100 million would be directly invested in this project, and both economic and social efficiency brought by this project would be great in the long term. The company has attached great importance to this project, and tried every way to accelerate the project for early completion, production and benefits. 

This project in Wanyang Smeltery Group is an important comprehensive technological improvment project of Jiyuan City, which could help the company expand output, enlarge scale, decrease energy consumption, increase effectiveness to realize energy-saving and environment-friendly production. The main point of this project is to eliminate the original 50-kt sintering-machine crude lead smelting production line, and launch a new one-stage lead smelting production line based on an oxygen-enriched technology. The total investment is RMB 470 million, with 16 months’ construction period. When completed, the project will help save 25% of energy consumption compared with the original one, cut over 20% of sulfur dioxide and lead-contained dust pollutant. Besides, new-added annual production value from the project will reach one RMB 1 billion, with 80 million profits and taxes expected.
 
Fang Hongjun, leader of technological improvment project in the company, said that the company has made strict reward and punishment regulations, in order to guarantee effective promotion of the project. At present, the outdated production line has been cleaned up, and fundamental project of the new production line has been completed, with part of the equipments being installed now. It is expected that this project can be completed and put into formal operation before the end of this year, six months earlier than expected.             
 
As one of main smelters in China, Wanyang Smeltery Group has paid great attention to energy-saving and environment-friendly production in the progress of capacity expansion. The company’s technological improvement project has paved a way for its normal operation in the future, and will also become a steady source of lead supply in China.
