SHANGHAI, Aug. 24 (SMM) -- On Monday, data shows the euro-zone consumer confidence index rose in August, but the euro-zone purchasing managers index of services industry slipped to 55.6 in August. The US dollar strengthened against the euro, weighing down base metals prices. LME base metals prices weakened on Monday, lacking an unclear market direction. LME zinc prices opened lower at USD 2,055/mt, and closed at USD 2,045/mt, down USD 15/mt, or down 0.73%. Special focus should be put on the US existing home sales and GDP data.
