SHANGHAI, Aug. 23 (SMM) -- Market concerns triggered by the US economic data last Thursday still persisted, and LME base metals prices faced sell-offs last Friday. LME zinc prices opened slightly lower at USD 2,095/mt, and later failed to hold steady after surging to USD 2,125/mt. The US dollar strengthened to 83.30, allowing LME zinc prices to fall to between USD 2,050-2,060/mt, and finally prices ended at USD 2,060/mt, down USD 45/mt, erasing all gains posted last week.
