Beijing Plans to Supervise Advance Payments
PEIJING, Aug. 19 -- Beijing is planning new rules for supervising and managing advance payments for purchases of commercial property, the Beijing Evening News said Tuesday, citing unnamed developers.
Under the new rules, which may be implemented this year, housing developers may be banned from receiving advance payments from homebuyers directly. Buyers would instead be required to make the advance payments to a designated bank account, according to the report.
