2010 June Al Output Data Analysis

SHANGHAI, Aug. 2 (SMM) --
Alumina:
According to China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association (CNIA), China's alumina output was 2.396 million mt during June, up 24.36% YoY, and with daily output of 79.9 kt, also up 2.2% compared with June's daily output of 78.2 kt. This change is not surprising given the current flexibility of alumina production.

Aluminum:
According to CNIA, China's aluminum output was 1.42 million mt during June, up 38.49% YoY, with daily output of 47.5 kt, up 3.81% YoY. The steady growth in aluminum output confirms that the actual effect from the latest round of aluminum production cuts was limited. SMM predicts China's aluminum output will grow slightly in July.
