SHANGHAI, July 19 (SMM) -- Construction of Xiamen Xiashun Aluminum Foil Company's aluminum plate and strip project is proceeding as scheduled and the project will come online during 2010 despite the lingering negative impact from world financial crisis. The cold-rolling workshop will become operational in May, the hot-rolling workshop in July, and the melting and casting workshop in September.
The company's main equipments include a 2,450mm (1+1) hot crude-refined rolling production line from Simak Inc. (SMS), a 2,450mm 4-roll non-reversing CVC cold rolling mill, a 2,182mm 4-roll non-reversing cold rolling mill from Aschenbach Corporation (Achenbach), a tension leveling line from the BWG company used in the PS version aluminum plate workshop, a 110mt melting furnace and a 110mt holding furnace from the Gauchi company used in the melting and casting workshop, and a 110mt inner-guild type hydraulic casting machine from the Wagstaff company, which will be the largest flat ingot casting machine in China and the world.
SMM believes Xiamen Xiashun Aluminum Foil Company is currently the leading producer of double zero aluminum foil in China, and the quality of product relies to some extent on imported aluminum foil billets. The new aluminum plate and strip project will not only diversify products, but also increase quality through the development of aluminum foil billets, which will in turn increase overall profitability.
