HAMBURG July 16 (Reuters) - Europe's largest copper smelter Aurubis (NAFG.DE), said on Friday it had stopped copper concentrate smelting after an accident at the plant late on Thursday.

The suspension was likely to be short-term, a company spokeswoman said.

The accident affected the concentrate smelting section of the company's Hamburg plant, she said.

Other parts of the plant including copper product and electrolysis were working normally.
