






MOSCOW, July 15 -- Kazakhstan produced in 2.6 million metric tons of bauxite in the first six months of the year, 6.6% more than in January-June 2009, the state statistics agency said Wednesday.
Iron ore output in January-June increased by 18.2% on the year to 24.6 million tons, while copper ore output was up 0.9% at 15.3 million tons.
Lead-zinc ore output fell 24.9% on the year to 3 million tons, while copper-zinc ore output was 2.5 million tons, down 0.6%.
The production of iron ore pellets was 4.2 million tons, 6.5 times the amount produced a year ago. The production of copper in concentrate fell 4.1% to 193,000 tons. Zinc in concentrate output fell 19.9% to 183,600 tons and lead in concentrate output fell 40.7% to 14,700 tons.
