Zijin Waste Leak Has 'Substantial Effect' on Copper Production

July 12 (Bloomberg) -- Zijin Mining Group Co. has suspended stockpiling of ore at the Zijinshan mine after waste water containing acidic copper leaked into a nearby river, the company said in a statement to the Hong Kong stock exchange today. The incident has had a “substantial effect” on copper production at the mine, it said.

The company's shares were suspended today and will resume trading tomorrow, July 13, it said.
